Sam Badawi, founder of MEB International,
has over thirty of experience in international business. He graduated
with a BSEE from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, and taught
there for three years before coming to the United States to pursue
graduate studies. After finishing his studies he worked for National
Semiconductor, where he held a variety of marketing, sales and
business management positions both in the United States and Europe.
Upon returning to the US after seven
years in Europe, Mr. Badawi founded, and was Vice President of
Business Development for, David Systems Inc., a telecommunications
equipment company. In this capactity he was responsible for raising
17 million dollars of equity capital from US venture capital
sources, Sharp Corp. of Japan and Pirelli of Italy.
Mr. Badawi was also the Managing General
Partner of Equity Venture Management, which is the general partner
for two venture capital funds which invested, primarily, in semiconductor
and communications start-up companies, and provided a very attractive
return to its investors.
Mr. Badawi founded MEB International
in 1986 and has counted among his clients companies such as Cisco
Systems and Crescendo Communications of the US, as well as SQP
of France and Delta Electronics of Italy.
